Cliff was a favorite of my younger cousin. I remember his early days when he performed in a coffee club in Soho. I was never a great fan of his, he wasn't quite a rocker in my eyes.Tricia McGillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02096440033015601944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6386912343147794659.post-3671919358993769962014-12-01T22:33:07.750-07:002014-12-01T22:33:07.750-07:00Oh, my! I used to go to the Palais de Dance (so posh) in Leicester on Wednesday and Saturday nights and several times a group of us went up to London to the Hammersmith Palais. Circular skirts and sugared petticoats, bobby sox and loafers and we were set for the night. Saw Fats Domino, Paul Anka, Stones (twice) but never the Beatles. Do you remember Cliff Richard? So many great names and great music. Thanks for the memories Tricia!Victoria Chathamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02064028734034371341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6386912343147794659.post-40094598236912609182014-11-26T22:13:35.286-07:002014-11-26T22:13:35.286-07:00To my mind we had it so much better than the young...To my mind we had it so much better than the young ones today. Half the performers are mumbling their way through songs. You always knew who was singing in the old days the minute they started to perform, but these days they all sound the same, and don't get me started on singers prancing about in skimpy outfits.Tricia McGillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02096440033015601944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6386912343147794659.post-39715104284760796022014-11-26T22:10:37.260-07:002014-11-26T22:10:37.260-07:00Ah, Janet, so glad you share my memories. Was able to see him in a performance when I was in nurses' training in Pittsburgh. The hospital had tickets to all sort of performances that arrived for the nurses to grab.
